Seattle Budget Witness

Our Seattle Budget Cycle Roundtable showed up for the city budget meeting in even larger numbers than before, making it clear through word and witness that budgets are a moral document!

We are building collective power across the city in order to advocate for a Seattle budget that invests in thriving communities, that reflects “care over punishment” and that preserves the spending plan passed years ago for the Jumpstart funding. We know that we cannot gut crucial services to our local community groups and be healthy. Seattle is safer when we invest in ALL communities.

To that end, you and your faith community are invited!! We are hosting two Seattle Budget Community forums in the coming weeks where we will offer a brief overview of the city’s proposed budget, especially how the Mayor's proposed budget intends to use the Jumpstart tax revenue to fill in the general budget deficit. Join us to learn more and take action for a budget that truly reflects the values of community care!
