The Wheel/Women in Black candlelight vigil for all 2020 outdoor/public/violent homeless deaths will be on Monday, December 21st starting with an informal sunset ritual at 4:21 p.m., this year being held in the large City Hall plaza outside the red doors on Fourth Avenue. The ritual will be followed by a silent vigil on the City Hall steps from 5 – 6 p.m. (*note change in locations from previous years*)

December 21st is the Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year. The National Coalition for the Homeless designates it “National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day.” On this day, WHEEL (a grassroots organizing effort) will stand a special one-hour, candlelight, Women in Black vigil to remember all the homeless men and women who have died this year outside, in public, or by violence in King County.
