This follow-up to Kids and Race: Changing the Narrative teaches caregivers how to recognize and address the misuse of power and privilege in children. This workshop empowers educators and parents to give voice to children of color without tokenizing a child who often just wants to fit in.
The program includes a concurrent children’s program for 3-9 year olds led by professional educators. Younger or older children are welcome to stay with their parents. Using art, movement, music and conversation, we teach children to notice and celebrate their own power and privilege. Then we encourage them to utilize their individual advantages for the good of those who are most often overlooked.
We make every effort to make our events accessible; please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
Scholarships available upon inquiry for families in need.
