Seattle Colleges presents the 45th Annual Community Celebration of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Nonviolence in a violent world. When we reflect on Dr. King’s legacy of nonviolent activism, what does violence and nonviolence look like in 2018? Where does racial violence truly lie today–online, in schools, in our government, in our streets? And in a time when the very nature of violence is up for debate, can the methods and values of Dr. King still help us forge a path forward toward racial justice? Let’s discuss how an honest look at the work of Dr. King may give us a more clear picture of the work we need to do today.

Doors open at 11 a.m.
