Join Ground Zero Center for a rally and march honoring Earth Day.

Speakers include Native American Storyteller and author Ty Nolan; Lilly Adams, Security Program Organizer for Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility; Dan Gilman, President of Veterans for Peace, Seattle Chapter 92; Elizabeth Murray, Ground Zero Center’s Member in Residence; Michael Ramos, Executive Director of The Church Council of Greater Seattle; and Vandana Whitney of 350 Seattle (a local group affiliated with 350.org).

There will also be music by folksinger/storyteller Tom Rawson and the Seattle Peace Chorus’s Action Group.

At noon, led by the monks from the Bainbridge Island Nipponzan Miyohoji Buddhist Temple, participants will march down Pike through Pike Place Market, stopping at Victor Steinbrueck Park (overlooking the Salish Sea), and back up Pine Street to Westlake Park for final speakers and music.

This event is part of Ground Zero’s greater effort to connect everyone to the grave threats of climate change and nuclear weapons, and to engage people in the important work of protecting our fragile planet from both these existential threats.

Event endorsers include Earth Care not Warfare, PSR Washington Against Nuclear Weapons, South Seattle Climate Action Network, Rainier Valley Neighbors for Peace & Justice.
