The Seattle Choral Company (SCC), led by their founding director, Freddie Coleman, continues their holiday tradition with their 10th annual Cathedral Christmas concert presented at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral.

This year’s concert program, “Buon Natale: An Italian Christmas,” will explore centuries of musical contributions made by Italians and Italian-Americans. “Buon Natale” says Merry Christmas in Italian. The SCC’s concert will feature Renaissance motets by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Giovanni Gabrieli, and Luca Marenzio, sacred masterworks by opera composers Giuseppe Verdi and Gioacchino Rossini, opera excerpts by Italian-Americans Gian Carlo Menotti and Dominick Argento, and popular Italian Christmas carols.

A pre-concert talk will be given one hour before the performance by SCC director Freddie Coleman at 7:00 p.m.
The traditional family carol sing-along with the cathedral’s Flentrop organ will take place at 7:30 p.m., with organist Wyatt Smith at the keyboard.
