Dylan Thomas’ unforgettable ode to his childhood Christmases is a perfect setting for songs of the season. Arrangements of traditional carols will be interspersed with Thomas’ joyous storytelling as narrated by well-known actor David Pichette. Thomas’ idyllic memories of childhood features exaggerated characters whose antics connect strongly with a broad audience. This concert will feature favorite music of the season from both sides of the pond. You’ll hear contributions by Eleanor Daley, Melinda Bargreen, John Taverner, Hubert Bird and others in this delightful holiday program.
David Pichette is delighted to be making his third appearance in NWCC’s A Child’s Christmas in Wales. Playing an integral part of the Seattle theatre scene since 1982, his recent appearances include Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman (Arts West), Lear in King Lear (Wooden O), and The Teacher in Small Mouth Sounds (Thalia’s Umbrella). He is currently playing Ebeneezer Scrooge in ACT’s A Christmas Carol. With longtime colleague and friend R. Hamilton Wright, he has adapted for the stage James M. Cain’s Double Indemnity and Arthur Conan Doyle’s Hound of the Baskervilles.
