Greetings Partners in Ministry and Community Service!

It is with great joy and anticipation that the Ebenezer AME Zion Church announces the appointment of the Rev. Dr. Lamont Duane Brown as its new pastor.

Dr. Brown received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Divinity from Virginia Union University and earned a Doctor of Ministry Degree from the Interdenominational Theological Center – Morehouse School of Religion. He most recently served the First Church – Portland located in Portland, OR. Prior to that appointment Pastor Brown served in the California Conference of the AME Zion Church at the Hilliard Chapel Church in Stockton, CA. Most of Dr. Brown’s ministerial career has been spent on the east coast. He served the Calvary Church in Kilmarnock VA, the Mount Olive Church in Virginia Beach, VA and the Sanctuary, also in Virginia Beach, VA.

Having been in pastoral ministry for over 30 years, Dr. Brown specializes in leadership development and assisting churches as they navigate critical periods of transition in pastoral leadership. Still, Dr. Brown, warmly referred to simply as “Pastor Brown” in the community, is most passionate about connecting with and listening to the real-life concerns of congregants and communities under his charge. Thus, you will often find him out meeting new people regardless of culture, creed, background or status. For Pastor Brown, all are welcome and there is a place for everyone at Ebenezer and in the Kingdom of God. To this end, upon his arrival to Seattle, Pastor Brown, shared with Ebenezer that his vision is for the church to be Connected to Christ and Concerned with the Community, and we fully intend to bring his vision to fruition.

In the spirit of community fellowship and collaboration, The Ebenezer Church cordially invites you to our welcome program to be held on September 25th, 2022, at 2:00PM. It is our prayer that you will join us in welcoming our pastor, the Rev. Dr. Lamont Duane Brown, to the Seattle community with open arms. We look forward to your attendance.

In His Service,
Pastoral Welcome Committee
