The current administration announced their plan to end Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), on September 5, 2017. Since then, several lawsuits have been filed against the administration for unlawfully terminating DACA. As a result of these lawsuits, three nationwide injunctions were issued by US District Courts in California, New York, and the District of Columbia (this has allowed people who previously had DACA to renew). On June 28, 2019, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to review these legal challenges. The Supreme Court heard oral argument on the cases on November 12, 2019 – a decision is expected by the end of June 2020.
