WA state residents behind on rent must act now to prevent eviction under new rules

On the evening of June 29 Governor Inslee issued a new proclamation regarding evictions. Please see the outline below for more details via our partners at the Washington Low Income Housing Alliance. It is critical that tenants know of these new rights and how they have changed from the initial order, most importantly that tenants must apply for rental assistance in order to protect themselves from eviction.

UPDATE from Gov. Jay Inslee for religious and faith-based organizations as part of Washington’s Safe Start phased reopening plan

With continuing reports of COVID-19 outbreaks at spiritual gatherings as counties have advanced to Phases 1.5, 2, and 3 of the Safe Start Plan, the Governor still strongly encourages religious leaders and communities to conduct services remotely. Alternatively, drive-in services are permitted in all phases and capacity limits do not apply. Counseling services are essential and may be permitted in-person, if remote counseling is not viable.
