We need everyone who supports a King County EDI to write a public comment to the County’s Regional Policy Committee by next Tuesday, 10/12 at noon!

To submit a public comment, send an email with your comment to kcccomitt@kingcounty.gov by Tuesday October 12th at noon (Topic: “BSK Implementation Plan”)

Click here for sample email and instructions.

Background Info: In the past few months, we worked with the King County Executive and Best Starts for Kids (BSK) staff to integrate King County EDI language into the BSK Implementation Plan (specifically in the Capital Grants Amendment to the plan). Now, the Regional Policy Committee (RPC) and King County Council will vote to approve the BSK Implementation Plan. The Regional Policy Committee is meeting on Wednesday, October 13 to discuss the BSK Implementation Plan.

Getting mention of the EDI in the Best Starts for Kids implementation plan won’t get an EDI up and going next year, but it could funnel $50 million in capital grants to community-driven projects over the next 7 years.

Please cc Kayla Jackson at kayla@pugetsoundsage.org on your email so she knows you have sent one. Then stand by for more action on County officials in the next few weeks!

Thanks everyone!
