Dearest Church Council community,

With gratitude and trust I write to let you know that the time has come to entrust the philanthropy program of the Church Council of Greater Seattle to other hands.

After 9.75 years at the Church Council, I have been feeling that it’s time for me to move on, to pass the baton to the next generation of leadership. I’ve been offered a position with OneWorld Now!, a non-profit that develops the next generation of global leaders. It will be an honor to be part of bringing more resources to their good work, which is similar in its heart to the Council’s: cultivating leaders.

It has been the gift of a lifetime to be part of the Church Council’s work, to partner with dedicated and feisty faith leaders in the evolution of this 100 year old institution into the next kind of organization needed for the dream that God has for our region. It has been a personal pleasure to get to know so many remarkable people and communities who live out the entwined calls for faith and justice.

My last day at the Council will be April 30 (just before GiveBIG!).  After that date, your best contacts around contributions are Annique Green, Philanthropy Associate, about records maintenance or gift recognitions (agreen@thechurchcouncil.org) or Executive Director Michael Ramos with any larger strategic dreams, schemes, or questions (mramos@thechurchcouncil.org).

I will look forward to seeing you all again at a worship, action, or Facebook.  We will surely see each other again on this sacred journey toward a place where all God’s children thrive.

In faith, justice, and friendship,

Beth Amsbary
